Filming “The Birds” in
Bodega Bay

After filming “Shadow of A Doubt” in Santa Rosa in
1948, Alfred Hitchcock returned to Sonoma County in 1961 to find a remote coastal
location for his next project “The Birds.” He chose Bodega Bay, with
surrounding bleak treeless hills, quiet fishing harbor and fog. Based on a short
story by Daphne DuMaurier, the original story took place in an English seashore
village where murderous birds attacked the local villagers… read

Bodega Heritage Gallery
Linda and Dan of Bodega Bay Heritage Gallery in Bodega Bay feature "Generations: Two California Artist Families." Gallery 1 exhibits world recognized master painter of the sea ALEXANDER DZIGURSKI 1911-1995 and his son ALEXANDER DZIGURSKI II, well known in his own right for local seascapes. Gallery 2 exhibits famous painter of the desert JOHN W. HILTON 1904-1983 and his daughter KATHI HILTON. The show runs to June 27, 2010.
The Bodega Bay Heritage Gallery is down the driveway to the lower parking lot of the Blue Whale Building on Eastshore, behind Local Color Gallery and not far from the Ren Brown Collection and Smith & Kirk Fine Art and Custom Framing.
Regular hours are Fridays Saturdays and Sundays 11AM to 5PM. Special appointments are always available 875-2911
